It started Thanksgiving of 1998. the first trip actually wasn't an all-guys trip. The roster was myself, Robin, Shawn, Jon (Guano), and Steve, who drove up from Tempe. Most of us had never been before, and we spent much of the 3 days just trying to take it all in. We definitely spent more time seeing the sights and checking out attractions like the Star Trek Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton, than we spent in the casinos themselves. Well, at least Robin and I did.

When the trip was all over, it can be said that everyone had a good time. We rode roller coasters, ate at buffets, won some money, lost some money, and had Thanksgiving dinner at the Steak Escape in Denver International Airport (they have veggie subs). All in all, a swell vacation. It wasn't long however (several months in fact), before some of us (the boys) started to get the itch to go back. Robin, on the other hand, felt she had seen enough to last a while, and told us to go on without her. (I think she did it just so she can rent those disturbing/depressing movies she likes so much and that I hate).

That was more than six trips ago, and there is usually a new one being planned at any given moment.

the vegas blog new!

This is now the location for all Vegas vacation updates. All trip planning, all trip recaps since 2005, the whole enchilada.

"boys' trip 2005": the planning

To quote the Beatles, "number 9, number 9, number 9..." Our ninth trip is a little bit of the birthday boys trip of 2003, a little bit of the bachelor boys trip of 2003, but it is still all Vegas, baby.

"bachelor boys trip 2003": the planning

This one is still just a twinkle in our eyes right now. Two guys getting ready to head down the aisle, so why not get a BIG group together in Vegas? Tentatively scheduled for early/mid July.

"birthday boys trip 2003": the planning

A small group again looking for our own version of "March Madness". Just fellas with birthdays in March are headed out for the first trip I have made since entering (and exiting) the gaming industry as a Black Jack dealer.

"guys's trip 2001": the planning

Some new blood, and a whole new approach. Did you know the average temperature in the summer in Las Vegas is 105 degrees? Well, at least most of us are driving!

"guys' trip 2000": the journal

A small crew, but big fun. I kept a diary of sorts and took some pictures. Check it out! It's sure to make you embarrassed for us.
